Good Morning, hope you all are doing well. Enchilada sauce is cooking smells sooo good, the beans are on and the masa for the tortillas is being mixed. Smells like a "old fashion" Mexican home. All I am missing is the commotion of everyone running in and out and asking are the torts done yet? At home my Dad would mix up for masa for the tortillas and have it ready for Mom, this was usually when he was laid off for the winter, and at 6 in the morning. Then we would hear the soft pounding of the tortillas being rolled out, smelled great. and as we got older we had to rolled them out for our supper, the shapes we got were unbelievable!! State shapes and countries were our specialties. The cool weather makes me hungry for enchiladas and hot tortilla with butter! Guess what I can go get that tortilla now, sorry that sounds mean, but i can. Hope you have a great week and see you soon.

Good Morning, hope you all are looking forward to three day weekend. I sure am, going to ride in the burn the point tonight, it should be fun. We will be closed on Monday for Labor Day, Open Tuesday 10 to 7:30 pm. Come pick up some flour tortillas for your camping trips, great breakfast burritos. Hello everyone, its been a while since I written. So should we all take a guess as to when our first snow fall will happen? I can't believe summer is almost over. But I am sure next week it will be hot again. Anyway it definitely is burrito special weather, hot steaming enchilada sauce and melted cheese, mmm, its so good. Lately my favorite has been cheese enchiladas with rice. Of course all you cheese lovers there is always the Lupita Special. Getting hungry yet? See you at the cafe.

I can't believe school is starting all ready For your quick and easy dinners remember our flour tortillas make great "sandwiches" anything you can put on bread, you can do the same with a tortilla ! Peanut butter is so good, but if you warm the tortillas the peanut butter does "melts" and it can be messy, but good. good luck all your students and have the best year you can, and have fun too! Parents, what can I say? enjoy this time because the years go by so quickly, and we realize too late we were working when life happened. Hope to see you at the cafe.

Good Morning, thank you for all the wonderful comments about the photo of my grandkids and our tortilla making weekend. They have been very anxious to make them for a long time. I of course was very happy when I asked my daughter to help me make the tortillas for the annual Fiesta and all three kids volunteered. They are fast learners. The Fiesta is this Saturday at the South Park. Hope you can attend. The cafe is only donating the tortillas and some other things, we won't be there this year. The dinner will be served under the tent, silent auction is promising to have many great items. And of course the entertain is always outstanding. See you later, enjoy these summer days.

The 2nd and 3rd generation taught the 4th generation how to make tortillas yesterday for the fiesta!

Please forgive me Dads, I did intent to wish you all a Happy Father's Day, but the old mind is slipping. I hope most of you had a great day and the weather didn't bother your plans too much. Starting July 2, we are going back to full table service for lunch and continue for dinner hours. We have help, so things should go smoothly. I am enjoying this spring weather and looking forward to what season we will be in next month. Summer? or more Spring. I don't mind 70 degree weather and my roses are very happy. Okay, we have tortillas for sale once again. Just finish a batch, so if you need a dozen or so come on in, open till 2 pm. If you cannot come in I will be here till 3 30 today and here tomorrow morning till 1 pm. Just ring the door bell and I will open the door.

Well we aren't able to make tortillas right now, waiting for a sensor, should be here this afternoon, just waiting for service man to repair. If you want call and place your tortilla order and when they are ready we will call you. Hello, well some bad news for a few of you, we will not be able to make any tortillas to sell by the dozen. The tortillas will be just for our orders. Sorry, but can not make them at this time, should be back to normal by Thursday. Enjoy this nice weather and see you some time this week.

So much is happening this weekend, Congratulation to all the seniors and eighth graders graduating this week. And good luck with whatever life has in store for you and remember to enjoy yourself too. This weekend as many of you take to the road, please take your time and be safe, don't feed the bears and don't try to get close to the wildlife, we need you back here to feed you!! Ours hours are today closing at 7:30 and open Friday 10-2 pm, Closed on Monday. Remember we have fresh tortillas just being packaged as I type. Hello, just a reminder that tortillas are a great staple to take camping next weekend. So are burritos that I make ahead and wrap in deli paper, ready to eat cold or heated in your cast iron skillet (re-wrapped in foil). We will be closed on Monday the 28th, so that we can enjoy a long weekend too. If is doesn't stop raining soon I may have to ask if anyone has goats that would like to eat some very tall grass! Have you ever wished that the sunshine and your energy level could equal time to do yard work at the same time? I have more energy when it is raining and I am working and can't go home and work in the yard ! Oh well, I don't mind cooking for you so come on in today till 2 or see you next week.
